Philosophy

Our team at The CubbyHouse is committed to providing high quality care and education for children in a supportive and collaborative environment for parents and whanau, which is an extension of your home.

We believe children will learn and grow in a fun and un-hurried environment where they feel happy and secure. We take time to build meaningful relationships through trust and respect with our children and CubbyHouse families.

Our teaching team are passionate about creating a responsive curriculum in which children have the freedom to explore and make discoveries at their own pace, allowing them to learn and grow as individuals. We give children the space to lead their own learning whilst supporting them and building on their interests. The quality of the physical setting is essential to the well being of both the children and their teachers. We have created a natural and spacious environment, which allows them endless opportunities for creativity, growth, friendship and learning.

We value both children and parent/whanau aspirations and celebrate individual cultural identity, extending on this within our programme. We work together with you and your child to build the foundations for their continued success in life.

Through honouring our heritage, connecting with our community, developing our teaching team and ensuring our quality resources and facilities support continued growth and learning, our CubbyHouse parents and whanau can be confident that the choices they have made for their child’s education and care are the right ones.

Our curriculum reflects the principles, strands, goals and learning outcomes of Te Whariki.
